Update

Dear Core Members & Nick's Kids Fund Supporters,

On December 6th, 2011, Nick's Kids Fund hosted the Annual Christmas Giveaway and Dinner in the North Zone of Bryant - Denny Stadium for 20 families who were affected by the April 27th tornado.

The chosen families lost everything in the storm.

Nick's Kids Fund, with the help of many volunteers and donations was able to restore holiday spirit and cheer to all of the families by providing the following:

  • Christmas tree from Tree House Farm and Nursery
  • Ornaments to deck the tree
  • $500.00 gift card to Target
  • $50.00 gift card to Toys 'R Us
  • $90.00 Honey Baked Ham gift card
  • Filled stockings
  • Wrapping paper and bows donated by area representatives from Pfizer
  • Crafts for the children to make Christmas keepsakes
  • Cypress Inn Dinner
  • Dip-N-Dots Ice Cream

Mrs. Terry Saban, Thad Turnipseed, and Bob Johnson (of Habitat) emceed a heartwarming program.

Smiles were plentiful around the room.

The humble gratitude of each and every person involved was truly awe inspiring.

We wanted to share a Christmas e-card and short video clip (click play at bottom) from the evening with you and with your family so that you may have a small glimpse of what you have done by supporting Nick's Kids Fund.

Yesterday Mrs. Terry Saban accepted our first proceeds check from BBQ Sauce Sales.

Thank you all for supporting this effort as we experience the pains and benefits of growth.

It really has surpassed any project that we have undertaken in the past.

We are learning as we go, and the results have been phenomenal.

Because of the BBQ Sauce Sales, and because of your support, we were able to co-host a "Gear Up for the BCS Game in Bama Merchandise" event with Academy Sports & Outdoors yesterday as well.

25 children received:

  • $50.00 in Bama gear from Academy
  • $50.00 gift cards to McDonalds (courtesy of NKF)
  • Movie passes to Cobb Theaters (courtesy of Mr. Bobby Cobb)

Mrs. Terry also received word from a local school counselor yesterday afternoon of 4 children (from different families) who would not have received a single Christmas gift this year.

She and the board were able to put together Bama gear, Target gift cards, food cards, and several outfits for school for those children to unwrap on Christmas morning!

As you are likely aware, the Nick's Kids Fund 13 for 13 housing project has taken off like no other community project on which we have before embarked.

We are on the 6th house and have the lots purchased for the 7th and 8th houses.

As we prepare for the BCS National Championship, know that every night when we lay nestled all snug in our beds, visions of a 14th championship and home project dance in our heads!

As you can see, Nick's Kids and the Sabans have been extremely busy over the past few months.

Since the tornado, Nick's Kids Fund has been able to help those in need with groceries, gas, clothing, and shelter.

Your generosity has created a phenomenal ripple effect of goodness in our communities.

Please take a moment to pat yourself on the back for a terrific year of giving to others.

That's really what it is all about... as Coach Saban says when speaking of his own father, "No man stands as tall as when he stoops to help a child."

Ho, Ho, Hope your family has a perfectly wonderful holiday season!

Sincerely,

Nick & Terry Saban
