Chipping for Charity

On Saturday, Sept. 29, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Alabama Football National Championship, players from Alabama's 1992 National Championship winning team, Prince Wimbley, Antonio Langham, Derrick Lassic, George Wilson and '92 Head Coach Gene Stallings, Chipped for Charity to help Travelers raise $6,000 for Coach Saban’s Nick’s Kids Fund at the Travelers Chipping Challenge. The Chipping Challenge is an interactive experience that includes taking a golf shot at a floating green in the shape of the iconic Travelers red umbrella for the chance to raise money for charity and win a variety of prizes. Terry Saban, was also on-site to Chip for Charity and accepted the check on behalf of the Nick’s Kids Fund prior to kick-off

Travelers previously raised $5,000 for Nick's Kids Fund in 2011, and $2,500 at the Birmingham Barons Minor League Baseball game in August 2012, totaling $13,500 in donations to the charity over the past two years.

Throughout the tailgate, the '92 Alabama alumni were on site at the Travelers Photo Experience, where fans were able to have a photo taken with the players and receive an autograph. Additional fan activities at the Alabama game included the Travelers Putting Challenge, where fans who made two-out-of-three putts received a prize. All fans that stopped by the Putting Challenge received a complimentary Travelers T-shirt.
